individual, personalized therapy

  • Anxiety is your body’s normal and adaptive response to dangerous situations in the environment. However, when that system becomes overactive it can be debilitating and uncomfortable. It can impact quality of life, relationships, work, as well as mental and physical health. I approach treating anxiety by honing awareness of the bodily responses and signals, and harnessing these tools to assist in nervous system regulation and stabilization. Anxiety in itself is not dangerous, and once we expand our understanding of that, distress around anticipating anxiety can decrease. This can free you up to live your most joyous life!

  • I love helping clients explore the rich depths of gender identity, expansion and expression. I have extensive experience working with the LBTQIA+ community and supporting folks experiencing emotional, relationship and medical crises. As a Queer person, finding an queer-affirming and competent therapist was life changing. Queer and Trans people make up my community and family, and providing affirming and inclusive care is something I’m very dedicated to. As a Queer therapist, I work to make my practice as affirming, welcoming and inclusive as possible. I have experience working with folks seeking gender affirming hormones and writing support letters for gender-affirming surgeries. I am aware of the way that systemic oppression disproportionately impacts the LGBTQIA+ community, especially trans women of color. I dedicate my work to dismantling these systems while helping support my clients within these harmful systems as best as I can.

Additionally, exploring sexual desire and struggles around sexual expression can be rife with shame, trauma and other emotional challenges. I believe that every human being deserves a fun, healing, pleasurable, connected and fulfilling sex life if that is what they want. I am sex positive, sex work affirming, kink positive and competent in working with polyamory and ethical non-monogamy. I have specialized knowledge in sexual and reproductive health, abortion, and safer sex practices, and enjoy working with clients to help them realize their goals of connection with themselves and any partners.

  • Some amount of suffering, stress or discomfort is an unavoidable part of human life. This can be a scary reality to sit with, and my goal is to help client build skills to respond to stress with more acceptance and flexibility. I can provide emotional support as well as concrete skills to help you navigate life’s challenges with courage and ease.

Relationship difficulties can be destabilizing and confusing. I enjoy guiding clients through relationship challenges through problem solving, boundary setting, and clarifying how to show up in our relationships in a way that is aligned with our deepest values.

  • Traumatic experiences can be devastating, impactful, and hard to talk about. The way we are evolutionarily designed to protect ourselves from danger can result in our nervous system and stress response system becoming overactive after exposure to trauma. I have specialized knowledge of trauma, its effect on neurobiology, and its impact on client’s emotional lives. To help treat trauma symptoms and PTSD, I focus on nervous system regulation, emotion regulation, mindfulness, exposure, and somatic work to help clients regain a sense of safety in their bodies. I incorporate Trauma Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and integrate other modalities as appropriate.

  • In American/Western society, people who live in larger bodies are stigmatized, shamed and oppressed on a systemic level. Additionally, we are all constantly being bombarded by messages steeped in diet culture about what we can and should be doing to change the shape and size of our bodies. There is real social pressure to fit an unrealistic beauty standard that is rooted in uplifting thinness, whiteness and ableist ideals. I help my clients unlearn the diet culture messaging and approach body image issues through a lens of self compassion and acceptance. I utilize a Health at Every Size framework with a focus on body neutrality.

  • You are the expert on your life and body. I can help support you in that, and provide another perspective to welcome meaningful change.
